Located near the pond-follow the path from Hemlock Haven
“The Gap” (no, it is not in a mall) is an almost four mile hike from the confines of Mount Luther. If you look from the field toward the pond, you will see a patch of rocks in the mountains. This is Buffalo Gap. The Gap has a great campsite near a stream and has many small hike potentials once there. Also, an excellent mountain spring is nearby with great water.
Another campsite created in 1995, this is south of Blacksnake on the camp property line near the Ropes Course. It was made by the Ten Day Campers that year. The name is pronounced BWAH-nah AH-sah-FWEE-way and mean “Praise the Lord” in Swahili.
Located across the road from the main camp entrance. Got its name because the stream running through it reminded someone of a fish hook. Take the path off the road near the telephone pole.
Located near the pond off the path to the sawmill. This location is good for large groups. Can also use the pond for other overnight activities.
Where porcupines come to visit and people talk about solos in A-flat minor. This is approximately 5-6 miles from camp. Jones is an uphill, up mountain hike, but is a truly great experience. From Jones Mountain, you can see the fields at camp. Be sure to talk the trail, however, and not the power line!
Located where the old archery range was. Near the pond, this site is a nice place for medium sized groups and younger groups.
Pine Oak is a small campsite, located near the Amphitheatre. It was named “Pine Oak” when it was created because it’s halfway between Pine Village and Oak Cottage. It is also need the Hay/Tick field. Beware of the beef stew buried there!
This is the reservoir which holds water for Mifflinburg. It is about a three mile hike from camp. The worst part is getting to the Turkey Feeder! Ferns adorn the campsite.
The Turkey Feeder is one of the furthest sites in camp to walk to and it is at the top of a hill. Some all-camp campfires are held there (in fact they use to be there twice a week. The staff was in tip-top shape by the end of the summer!) Contains benches and a fire circle. Good for large groups. Maybe you can even learn the electric slide there.
A campsite created in 1995, this is located on the southeast corner of camp near two streams across from the Block Building and the mailbox.
