Mount Luther: A Place Set Apart
Dear Parents, Campers and Friends,
Greetings! We can’t wait to welcome you to camp this summer to “Experience God. Experience Nature. Experience Service.” We have an exciting line-up of opportunities for you in 2010!
Experience God
Rooted in our Lutheran heritage in Central Pennsylvania, Camp Mount Luther is committed to offer a safe place apart from the world that renews and strengthens faith through experiences with God. We will live in an intentional Christian community and practice small group camping. While here, you will engage in worship, meditation, music, team building, Bible study, faith discussions, devotions, prayer, and other ways of sharing the love of Jesus Christ.
Experience Nature
We have 400 acres of forests with cabin, worship sites, fields, trails, campsite and a pool. You’ll participate in activities like swimming, canoeing, camping, crafts, campfires, sports, singing, nature study, and hiking. Mount Luther is a place for simplicity, relaxation, fun, freedom, and responsibility. You’ll enjoy living simply without the distraction of television, video games, cell phones and technology. You’ll sing, pray, splash, and run.
Experience Service
Mount Luther is a place to be yourself and belong. You’ll find your voice and most importantly, you’ll listen for God’s voice. You’ll learn more about service and Christian hospitality. You’ll develop new friendships and participate in service learning activities. We hope this will lead to a life of discipleship and Christian leadership.
Outdoor Ministries is for all ages. We’re sure you’ll find something you like from our traditional, specialty and trip camps. For those who’ve been to Mount Luther before, we’ve added exciting, brand new camps and theme weeks and we’ve made some exciting new changes to our weekly schedule which we think you’ll enjoy! Look through these pages to discover a host of opportunities for you and your family. This summer will be special as we are celebrating the 20th year of our cook, Carol Segraves, who will be retiring in 2010; the 10th year of my directorship; and the 5th year of our joint partnership with the Episcopal Diocese of Central Pennsylvania.
I’m looking forward to experiencing God with you this summer!
