Summer 2026: Week 6 preview

One of the most anticipated parts of summer at Camp Mount Luther is our always-popular water-themed week—and this year we’re taking the adventure even further by turning it into Pirate Week!

Get ready to pack the water wings, aqua shoes, and plenty of extra towels, because this is a week where campers won’t just get a little wet—they’ll dive headfirst into fun. With extended time at the pool, the pond, and even the creek, campers will explore God’s creation in refreshing new ways. From creek hikes and canoeing to fishing, water slides, and maybe even a spirited water balloon battle, every day promises splashes of laughter and discovery.

But this week is about more than just cooling off. Water holds deep meaning in our faith. Martin Luther encouraged Christians to begin each day by remembering their baptism—an everyday reminder of God’s grace and love. Throughout the week, as campers play, explore, and yes, get soaked, they will also reflect on these promises in ways that are active, memorable, and rooted in joy.

Pirate Week is designed for a wide range of ages, welcoming campers from 5 to 17. Our youngest participants will enjoy age-appropriate water adventures filled with creativity and care. Campers ages 13–15 will take part in a special backpacking day, traveling into the nearby mountains to experience the beauty of moving water in a whole new setting. For older youth, ages 16–17, we offer the SIT (Staff-in-Training) program—an opportunity to learn what it’s like to serve on summer staff. Participants are paired with cabin leaders and begin developing the confidence, responsibility, and leadership skills that shape future mentors.

As always, the Mount Luther experience blends small-group connection with larger community activities. Campers spend meaningful time with their cabin groups—building friendships, encouraging one another, and growing together—while also joining in all-camp games, worship, and adventures that create a true sense of belonging.

It’s a week of high energy, deep faith, and unforgettable memories—where laughter echoes across the water and campers are reminded that they are surrounded by God’s love.

If you haven’t signed up yet, there is still time to join us this summer. We would love to welcome you aboard for the adventure! We will try not to make you walk the plank, matey!
