Recently, a mom of two former campers and staff shared something powerful with me: even though her daughters are now grown, married, and adults, she still sees how camp shaped who they are. Their faith was nurtured here. Their leadership was formed here. And decades later, their closest friendships still trace back to camp.
That’s not unusual.
I still gather with people I worked with at camp 30+ years ago. Some groups meet regularly—to laugh, to support one another, and yes, sometimes to cry. Just this New Year’s Eve, I watched one of those groups ring in 2026 together.
