A Rainy Week at Camp

For our Friday posts on Good SOIL during the summer season, you’ll hear updates or a story from the week. This week, camper Ellie Schaeffer shares her thoughts…

“It rained for forty days and forty nights” seems the perfect bible verse to describe this week. In the words of Cabin Leader Burton, “We thank God for the perpetual misting this week.”

We enjoyed many, many, many a round of Mafia during rain storms, played outside when the rain let up, and sang “Mr. Sun” (a song wishing for rain to stop) approximately fifty times.

Unfortunately, some outside activities did get changed. We had to move night games, our campfire had more stuffed animals than real fire, and the overnight occurred in the basement instead of under the stars.

Nonetheless, we enjoyed ourselves, with our puddle stomping, inside games, and indoor worship. Overall, though it did seem to rain for forty days and forty nights, we continued to keep camp as lively and fun as ever!
